What comes to mind when you hear of a home based business opportunity that promises financial freedom? Does it seem as make believe as Snow White and her seven dwarves? That was definitely my feeling when I set out in search of a work at home business opportunity that could generate real income. I knew beyond doubt that I deserved total personal and financial freedom. I also knew that I would never have it if I kept doing what I was doing; working fulltime for someone else assisting them to achieve their goals yet robbing my husband, kids, and myself of the chance to achieve our own goals, not to mention the expense of precious time that is irreplaceable. So I reasoned, if my current method of operation, being an employee, was not the answer being self employed had to be.
It became my mission to educate myself and uncover a home based business opportunity that was real. Real in the sense that the home business would have to offer a real product, utilize a real system, offer real time freedom, and generate real income.
The first stop on my work at home journey was the Brilliant Compensation Plan by Tim Sales. The presentation compared being an Employee vs. Entrepreneur and Traditional Business vs. Network Marketing. It wonderfully outlined why a Home Based Business Opportunity is a solid vehicle for Personal and Financial Freedom. I also learned that more millionaires have been created in the Home Based Business Industry than any other business.
As I was weighing the information I had just gleaned I stumbled across what Robert Kiyosaki, Successful Businessman and Author of "Rich Dad Poor Dad", and Donald Trump, Real Estate mogul and Business Guru, had to say on the subject of a Home Based Network Marketing Business. Without reiterating everything I will simply say I found an outline of what to look for when investigating a Home Based Business Opportunity.
- Leverage: A tried and true, proven system in place employing the efforts of others.
- Control: A protected system that belongs to me.
- Creativity: The freedom to market and develop my own personal style and talents.
- Expandability: Uncapped growth potential.
- Predictability: Solid compensation plan that grows my income in direct proportion to my hard work and success.
Walla! I had a template for my ideal home based business and the endorsement of huge financial leaders of our time. I finally saw a glimmer of hope which made my goal of personal and financial freedom seem less and less of a fairy tale.
Fast forward to today, I did find the ideal home business. I have the leverage, control, freedom to be creative, expandability, and predictability. As far as personal and financial freedom, 90 days after working my business I fired my boss. I am with my kids everyday. I put them on the school bus everyday and meet them as they come off the bus every afternoon. I am at each of the meets, games, and school events. In fact, a few of their friends have adopted me as their honorary mom because their parents aren't there to cheer them on but I am. Life is good!... real good.
